Copiapoa cinerea

Native to the Antofagasta and Chaņaral regions of northern
Chile, Copiapoa cinerea is a globular to columnar cacti that can reach 4 feet high and 8 inches around. One
of the most popular of the Copiapoas it produces a beautiful bluegrey coating and wooly crown when mature.
Unfortunately it is also slow growing and this can take 15 years. It will eventually offset from the ribs
and these offsets can be used for propagation.
Mine is a just a little guy just two inches around. It will be awhile before I see
it's mature form. Oh well :-( After seeing pictures of this plant when mature I just had to have one! I guess
I can wait. Below are two fine examples of mature clumps at B & B Cactus Farm.
