Coryphantha cornifera
"Rhinocerus Cactus"




     From the states of Querétaro and Hidalgo, Mexico, Coryphantha cornifera is a beautifully spined globular cactus to six inches across. The plant develops a wooly crown in time from which appear yellow or sometimes reddish flowers.
     This beautiful specimen came from Tohono Chul Park in Tucson and is about three inches across. It flowered off and on all summer.
