Echinocereus subinermis

Found in the States of Sonora, Chihuahua and Sinaloa, Mexico, Echinocereus subinermis is a sometimes clumping cylindrical cactus to 8 inches tall and 3 to 4 inches across. It produces yellow flowers with green centers in spring and summer.
This came from Tohono Chul. I love the blue green body. I don't have any pictures yet of the flower, but Trent, a fellow member of the Davesgarden.com gardening forums has agreed to let me use his. Thanks Trent! Look for a gallery of Trents pics in the "Friends" section.
Update mid March, 2007. I went to a TCSS sale and B&B Ccatus Farm was there. I picked up another E. Subinermis that is decidedly different and huge! It's also got a lot of buds so I will have flower pics soon. Grown in full sun I assume, it's a beautifull mottled purple. It's also about 3 inches across.
