Echinopsis maximiliana

Native to northern Bolivia and southern Peru, Echinopsis maximiliana is a clumping globose to cylindrical cactus to 2 inches in diameter and 8 inches tall. Over time it forms large clumps. Red flowers with yellow throats appear in spring.
This was bought from Miles Anderson at the Tucson Botanical Gardens "Weird Plant" sale labled Echinopsis maximiliana ssp. caespitosa. I love the red spines and can't wait to see flowers.
