Espostoa lanata "Old Man of Peru"

Native to mountainous regions of Ecuador and Peru, Espostoa lanata is a candelabra shaped branching columnar to 20 feet tall with stems 4 inches thick. Once it gets to about 3 feet high, in late spring and early summer it produces white or purple flowers 2 inches across.
I have about three of these I think I'll plant in a group somewhere in the garden. Have to find a place shaded in the afternoon though. They'll burn up otherwise. Below is a mature specimen about 4 foot high at Tucson Botanical Gardens.
