Native to central Baja, Ferocactus rectispinus is a lethally spined barrel to 2 feet around and seven feet tall. It has some of the longest straightest spines of the Ferocacti. In late summer it produces large yellow flowers.
     I picked this one up at Bachs and plan to put it in the ground next year. I was also fortunate enough to be at the Desert Museum in mid August when they were flowering. Click below for more pictures.
