Gymnocalycium baldianum
"Dwarf Chin"

Gymnocalycium baldianum is a solitary flattened globular cacti from Argentina. It can flower when only 12 months old and barely an inch and a half across. Eventually it will reach a diameter of about three and a half inches. In spring flowers come in several flushes. Flowers can be red, pink, orange or white, but are most often a stunning scarlet. They are followed by green fruits.
I have two of these in the garden and another potted. All have flowered repeatedly. Click below for more pictures.
