Gymnocalycium spegazzini

From Cordoba, Aregentina, Gymnocalycium spegazzini is a solitary globular cactus to 6 inches across. It has the magnificent spination of many of the Gymnos and is not a plant something is likely to eat. Flowers are cream colored and fade to pink in the center with a brownish midstripe.
I love these brown bodied Gymnos, they are a favorite of mine. Xenomorph, a fellow member of the Davesgarden.com gardening forums, has consented to letting me use some of his pictures. Here's a pic of a fine mature specimen in a plant show. Thanks Xeno :-) Also be sure to visit the Galleries, Friends section for a huge gallery of some of Xenomorphs finest photos.
