From Bolivia, Gymnocalycium spegazzinii ssp. cardenasianum is another of the Gymnos with spines that masterfully encage the body of the plant. Not much can get past that cage of ivory tusks to take a bite out of it. The plant is solitary and gets to 5 inches across. large pink flowers are produced in summer.
     Another big Gymno from B&B. This one is nearly full grown at 4 inches across and should flower soon.
