Harrisia pomanensis "Apple Cactus"

Found in tropical areas of Argentina, Bolivia and Paraguay, Harrisia pomanensis is a sprawling climber with stems up to 10 foot long and two and a half inches thick. Its 3 to 6 angled stems can be very spiny or nearly spineless. It produces large white nocturnal flowers intermittently throughout the spring and summer, followed by a winged red fruit often called a Dragon Fruit.
This is a pair of cuttings from one I found in an alley. One has a new fruit and a forming flower bud. Below is a fruit I picked off the same plant. I ate half of it, it was delicious, and saved the seed from the rest.
