Mammillaria bocosana "Powder Puff"

From central Mexico, Mammillaria bocosana is a charming furry gem of a cactus, aptly named "Powder Puff". It is a clumping species and the heads get to be about 2-1/2 to 3 inches around. Cultivars are raised for their furry appearance and one in particular, among the furriest, is "forma multilinata". Flower colors range from yellow to pink and appear in spring and summer.
What can I say? I love furry cacti. This one is allready 3 inches around so it's either going to produce some offsets soon or prove itself to be the odd solitary one. No flowers yet. But then it's only April. Hopefully there will be flower pics soon.
Update April 20th, 2009. I long ago lost the above plant to rot but got two more from B&B, one in full flower. Enjoy!
