Mammillaria melanocentra

From Nuevo Leon Mexico, Mammillaria melanocentra is a solitary black spined cactus that gets to 6 inches tall and 4 inches around. In late winter and early spring it produces large beautifull flourescent pink flowers that look like shiny silk.
When I fist saw this one bloom I went and got another hoping to cross pollinate them. My darned luck the second didn't even put out buds till the first one finished flowering. I think I am going to plant them side by side in the garden and let nature do the rest.
