Mammillaria rhodantha
ssp. pringlei

From San Luis Potosí, Mexico, Mammillaria rhodantha ssp. pringlei is a gorgeous golden spined cactus that eventually becomes columnar to 10 inches in height and 5 inches around. Sometimes it's solitary and sometimes it offsets from the sides of the body. In summer tiny magenta flowers appear in a ring around the crown.
All I can say is, I love gold spined cacti. And this one is magnificently spined. I have three of them I'm going to plant in a grouping in the garden.
