Mammillaria saboae

From Sonora, Mexico, Mammillaria saboae is a clumping globular cacti with stems just 1/2 to 3/4 inch across. The fine white spines are exquisite in form as well as the large pink flowers which appear in spring.
I had a clump of this from Shoal Creek but lost it to rot. This new clump came from Tanque Verde Nursery. I pulled about 4 rooting pups off as insurance this time. Hopefully I'll have flowers in the spring. Below is a closeup of a single head and the marvelous spines.
