Neolloydia conoidea "Chihuahuan Beehive"

From Texas and northern Mexico, Neolloydia conoidea is a small columnar to 6 inches tall and 3 inches across. It produces large pink flowers in the spring and over time offsetts to produce a clump.
Found this at B&B Cactus Farm. They only had a few and I grabbed one as it adds a new genus to my collection. Love the name. Flower pics I've seen remind me of Mammillaria and Coryphantha, related genera I'm sure.
Update June 8th, 2007. A single flower and no dissapointment.
