Opuntia monocantha
"Common Prickly Pear"

An Opuntia monocantha in my collection
showing it's winter color

I could find little info on this plant other than it comes from Brazil and has yellow flowers tinged with red. I have both the monstrose form (above) and the variegated form (below). It grows fairly quickly and tends to droop over when it needs water. Both forms turn a deep burgundy color in winter.
