Parodia leninghausii "Golden Column"

From tthe Rio Grand do Sul region of Brazil, Parodia leninghausii is a clumping globular cactus that eventually becomes columnar to 2 feet high and 5 inches around. It is named for Guillermo Leninghaus a collector from Brazil. Its golden spines are soft and touchable and It has the odd habit of growing faster one side than the other so the top of the cactus is sloped. It get 2 inch wide yellow flowers in summer. I took the pups from this one and potted them up, the momma goes in the garden someday.
