Parodia mammulosa ssp. eugeniae

Parodia mammulosa ssp. eugeniae is supposedly related to Parodia mammulosa but I don't see how. All I could find out about it is it's from Uraguay. No matter, it sure is a pretty plant. It was sold to by me Tohono Chul as Notocactus rutilans which looks very similar in body and spine but has pink and yellow flowers like P. roseolutea. The final identification came after considerable discussion on the Cactiguide.com forum. Click below for some flower pictures taken in may 2006. I planted it it the garden in June.
