Parodia roseolutea

From southern South America, Parodia roseolutea is a solitary globular cactus to ten inches around. It is nicely spined and produces magnificent 3 inch flowers in late spring. They are red to pink with a yellow throat. I think I'm fortunate to be blessed with one of the pink ones. The plant above was given to me by a sweet lady in California named Antoinette. It bloomed for her in CA and then again here before I planted it in my garden. She's also allowing me to use her flower pics. Thank you Antoinette! Click below for some flowers.
