Pilosocereus gounellei
"Xique-Xique"

Native to northeast Brazil, Pilosocereus gounellei is a honey spined columnar that branches freely and can grow to 14 feet tall. It produces nocturnal white flowers. It has more lethal spines than my other Pilosocereus but shares the wooly areoles. I've seen pictures of it branching along the sides of the stems. It seems to be smaller and more shrubby in habit than some. Below is a picture of a specimen sized potted clump at Tanque Verde Nursery.
