Thelocactus hexaedrophorus

From the states of Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí and Zacatecas
, Mexico, Thelocactus hexaedrophorus is another solitary globular Thelo to 3 inches high and 6 inches across. Spines are a straw color and banded in red. Typically the plant lacks central spines. It's reported that flowers can be white or pink. I'm waiting on the one in front to flower.
I got these from Tohono Chul Park this spring. Three for one! I've since potted them seperately and will probably try one in the ground. I don't know if the bluish color is true or if it's because they are greenhouse grown. But for now I like it.
