Agave parviflora

From Sonora, Mexico and Arizona, Agave parviflora is one of the smallest Agaves. It only reaches a diameter of 8 inches or so. It has patterning similar to A. victoria - reginae and curly white fibers along the edges of the leaves. It's flower stalk is also one of the shortest at only 3 to 4 feet. Parviflora means "Small Flower".
Planted this one the year before last and it's done great! In fact I hope I'm not growing it too fast. I hate that they die after flowering.
Well it looks like I won't have to wait for flowers. I was at the Desert Museum in mid August and found one flowering outside the Aviary. Click below.
