Aloe hemmingii

Native to Somalia, Aloe hemmingii is a smaller aloe with thick heavily patterned and toothed leaves. It is very similar in appearance to Aloe zebrina but much smaller and darker in color. The flower stalks are also much smaller but the flower color is the same. It produces few offsets so most of mine are probably seed grown by the growers, though I have potted up two pups from a plant and they have done well.
I would like to try some of this in the garden. It's not invasive like some Aloes. In fact I've even used it in some container plantings with no worries it would take over the planter.
