Aloe variegata

From Namibia and western South Africa, Aloe variegata is a pretty succulent with toothless leaves spotted in white and with white leaf margins. Some of it's common names are "Partridge Breast" and "Tiger Aloe". The leaves are unique in that they are creased down the back side, unusual for Aloes. It clumps readily and produces rosettes about 10 - 12 inches across. In winter it produces a stalk of coral pink flowers with green edges.
This is a picture I took a few years ago of a potfull that I then split up. I've kept several growing in pots but haven't much luck with them in the ground. I don't think they like our sun or heat much. I'll have to try a nice shady spot. A small patch of these is very attractive when flowering.
