Aloinopsis schoonesii

From Bushmanland, South Africa, Aloinopsis schoonesii is probably the most common species found in cultivation. Also with a tuberous root, it forms many rosettes of tightly packed small pebble shaped leaves. Eventually it can form a dense clump. Yellow flowers appear in winter to early spring.
I also killed the first one of these I ever tried to grow. But when Home Depot had small clumps of them for sale at 98 cents each, I bought a half dozen of them and decided to try again. I potted them up, some singly and some in pairs. I only lost two. Danged spider mites!
