Avonia meyeri

I have to assume that Avonia meyeri is also native to southern Africa. I can find no information available on the Internet even with different spellings. And only a handfull of pictures. Perhaps a newly described species and not much has been published yet? It definately differs from A. Quinaria in that it's stems are twice as thick and branch. But not nearly as thick as A. buderiana. It also seems to have a more upright habit than A. buderiana.
This came from the same visit to Miles 2 Go last October. It has done OK but lost a few branches. There are new ones growing from the center though.
