Euphorbia platyclada

From Madagascar, Euphorbia platyclada is a strange branching stick stemmed succulent. The flattened stems are interestingly textured and colored. They are mottled in purple and pink when grown in good light. The plant sprawls, eventually forming a prostrate bush that can look like a pile of dead sticks. It makes a good hanging plant.
I got some of this from Shoal Creek Succulents last fall. It made it through the winter in my greenhouse without a problem and now in early August, after the rains, it's finally showing signs of growth. I took a small cutting off it, we'll see how easy it roots.I brought it in one day while it was still wet from a rain for the picture above. The water really brought out the color. Below is a closeup of the weird stems.
