Euphorbia resinifera

From Morrocco, Euphorbia resinifera is a succulent shrub
up to 5 feet high that mainly branches near the base of the stems. It is the source of one of the oldest
medicinal extracts known, a substance called Euphorbium used in ancient times as a purgative. This plant
was named after Euphorbus, the physician of an ancient King of Mauritania, Juba the 2nd. It is also the
plant that gave the Euphorbia genus it's name.
I got this one at Bachs a couple years ago because I liked the blue green color
and I was told it was cold hardy and wouldn't get too large. It seems both are true and I question the
size listed at Desert Tropicals. The plant doesn't seem to be getting much taller only wider. But then
it is very slow growing.
