Faucaria felina ssp. tuberculosa

Also native to South Africa, Faucaria felina ssp. tuberculosa is a clumping, rosette shaped succulent to 5 inches across. The bumpy tops of the leaves make this species the easist one to identify. Yellow flowers with red tips 1-1/2 inches across appear in late fall and early winter, followed by a segmented seed pod.
The picture above was taken in spring, before I cleaned up the winter debris. This clump has survived and thrived in a shady spot in my garden for two years now. It now has an F. tigrina companion.
