Sansevieria trifasciata

Sansevieria trifasciata variegata
Native to the western tropics of Africa,
Sansevieria trifasciata, known as "Mother in Laws Tongue" and "Snake Plant", is probably the most common
species in cultivation. It produces rosettes of leaves up to 3 feet tall and banded in a grey green pattern. My
variegated form has yellow leaf margins and is much more compact, 10 -12 inches tall
. Countless cultivars exist with variability in variegation and patterning
as well as growth form. To be truthfull I'm not even sure what the plant above may be called. Sansevieria trifasciata
variegata is close enough for me. One interesting thing to note; The plant is also called "Bowstring Hemp" because it was
once cultivated for fiber used in manufacturing bow strings.
I got this one in March. By June it had allready produced an offset that
looks like it's going to be bigger and stronger than the Momma.
